The owner of shore masonry and is a thief and a scam artist. He showed up and talked a good game and was hired when he provided the lowest bid. Then his guys started and he wanted more money to do the job and claimed his wife had cancer and they needed the money for medical bills. The second day he showed up drunk and I through him off the job. When I refused to pay the balance since the job was not complete, his wife began to harass my family. STAY AWAY!!!
I entered into a contract with this guy to install a foundation, some misc. deck footings, driveway and walk. When I first negotiated the contract it was winter and he needed work bad, almost begged for the work, it was almost embarrassing but I thought, wow, he should be appreciative and do a good job. I could never be more wrong.
He installed inferior materials for the drive way base and wanted a change order at every turn. When the time came to have the drive way and front walk put in, he refused to return to the project and insisted that this work was not in his contract even though I had him sign the scope sheet and his signature was an inch away from where these items where listed.
At the end of the day this guy is a crook and his word and signature are meaningless. Oh yea, one of the reasons that I hired this guy was because his wife worked for the developer who recommended him for the job. Thanks a bunch PT.
