Nice little getaway! Would highly recommend. The activity center, pool, and country club are great! Neighborhood and community are quiet, safe and pretty. This isn't a party scene. Perfect for retirement or a week with the family.
You wanna come here for a dessicated pizza? Great, five stars. You wanna bring a guest to the pool? I hope they have their passport and are TSA precheck enrolled. What used to be a great club has since become a depersonalized corporate experience. If you have lots of money to blow, I recommend blowing it elsewhere.
Here's the thing. The peninsula is nice, however there is one dark cloud in the sky that keeps this place from having sunny days. The management's implementation of the badge system at the pool. Its more confusing than the tax code in USA. They have guest passes which don't do anything because you can't use them to go to the pool unless you are with a member or are in the members extended family. Even if you are in the family you have to get a separate badge and bring a guest pass. If you think about it for a few seconds you will quickly realize that they shouldn't exist. I'm surprised they don't require you to have a special badge just to use the dang toilets. Interesting that they refer to this place as the pebble beach of the east coast. There is a dang jumbotron in the restaurant. Which is cool since the food is the same quality as a Nascar event. My rating won't change until the dated management removes this policy. The tiki bar is nice.
This is a nice place to stay we have 3 times now. It is a little on the uppity side though. Every year it seems to get more expensive. Example being 2 adults and two 11 year old girls to use the pool and the facilities for a week was $290. I think that's a little much! We took a small cooler packed with some bottled water and a few sandwiches and snacks and we're told we couldn't bring them in so we obliged. Once seated near the wave pool we noticed several other families with coolers that they had brought in and we're eating and drinking from them. We were told we couldn't bring anything in for licensing issues. Not really they just want to you to purchase from them. The expense of staying in the resort is enough. Don't know if we will go back again.
Amazing gated community. Town houses, condos, single family homes. Private Audobon golf course. Anything you can think of within the gates barring a grocery store, pharmacy, or doctors offices. It's even got its own zip code!
