We purchased a house in Lewes that needed a new roof. The lender and the insurance company wanted the new roof installed immediately, at soon as the house closed. We live far away so we had to interact with the roofing companies from across the country. The seller's realtor sent a quote. We spoke to the contractor. Just unimpressed. He said we could buy a 1 year guarantee from him, oh on second thought he would throw it in. So we called 4 other roofers for bids. One guy said we can get you a bid in a couple of weeks. Another could give us the bid, and did, about 10 days later. That left us with 2 companies. Bayside Exterior and C&M. The first to get out and do the bid. C&M. The best price for the job. C&M. The most thorough explanation of what was available. C&M. Their bid for the lowest level roof was right in the middle. Their bid for the highest quality roof was close to Bayside's but they gave us a 10 year guarantee.
I hope the guys read this review and know that we have never been happier with a contractor. If only our other jobs had gone so smoothly. And I would post pictures if I was not technically inept. But I would give C&M 6 stars if I could.
Was everything perfect? Of course not. My list of gripes? They parked in front of my garage door two times but moved within minutes of me asking. I wanted to pay in full before I left but they would not let me. That was a bit of a headache but their office was as great as their roofers when we had a problem.
The job they did was fantastic. The whole experience was fantastic. They arrived every day on time, the same guys. It was obvious that it was a construction team and not just some random workers. They cleaned up during and after their work every day. We have had remodeling done three times on our house in CA and every day we had to clean up. Nope never had that problem with C&M. The team was courteous, quiet, considerate, fastidious and they worked hard - all day long. It is a BIG roof. They did the tear down and replacement in 10 days. They did additional repairs & the cost was never a surprise. The quality of the workmanship was outstanding. I have a maintenance company that does work on a monthly basis and they were impressed by the quality of the work and the professional standard of the employees. So much so that they referred some of their customer to C&M.
So we signed with them with a little trepidation because you should never use price as the only reason to go with a company.
